How? link please

For those unsure of what it is, the Member ID is something on San Diego Comic Con’s website that you MUST HAVE when registering for badges. Without this ID, you will be unable to purchase badges when regular registration opens. It is also worth noting that if you are buying badges for yourself AND others, each person must have their own ID.

Here is the link to create a Member ID: https://secure2.comic-con.org/memberid/

It’s a secure link that asks for your name, address, phone number, email address, and a password/ID name. I did it earlier today, and it’s perfectly secure and safe.

If you would rather go straight through the Comic Con website, for personal reasons, to the Member ID page, go here - http://www.comic-con.org/cci/ - and click the red box in the upper right corner that says Member ID.

Comic Con Adventure #3

Got my Member ID! :D

Pre-registration is in August for those who went this summer, and the regular registration day is TBA. At least now I’ve done half of the process, and can receive emails for updates!

So, this is a link talking about preregistration for 2013, and those who went to Comic Con this year gets to register this August.

No mention of those who didn’t go this year.

/sigh/

Crunching numbers!

From what I’m figuring, gas and hotel would cost me around $1000 dollars (could be more due to varying hotel costs and gas prices).

A close friend of mine wants to go with me, so gas and hotel is being split between us, otherwise the cost would be double what I said. She lives in Virginia, and is willing to drive down here to meet up with me for the trip. We would then drive from central Alabama to San Diego, California. Our driving trip would be split into 4 driving days.

She’s the one who suggested road tripping rather than individually flying and meeting there, and since this is her trip as much as mine, I told her I’d figure up some numbers and we would go with what was cheapest. This, I think, is turning out to be as much as flying there, so there’s no real difference in cost. It’s just that getting there from Alabama is expensive. :/

My next goal is to figure up how much food would cost, and then get a good blanket number for spending/safety money.

If you have questions about how I’m figuring these things out, or just general Comic Con things that you need help finding (since I’m looking at them too), send me an ask!

Casually stalking Jenny’s blog for SDCC advice.

For the record, I also found the Teen Titans video, but because I have a feeling I’ll laugh A LOT and that I’m in my living room, I haven’t watched it. But I plan on it. >:D

I’m starting to plot out just how much it would cost, so I can get an idea of how much I need to save. The 2013 Comic Con is July 18-21, so it’s exactly a year from now.

For the record, I also stalked which hotel Jenny stayed at this year, and it seems like that’s where I’m looking at. xD

Also, any Comic Con posts I make from now on will be tagged as “Maggie’s Comic Con Adventure” as a way of me keeping track of them. I don’t know if I’ll ultimately be successful, but I’m going to give it an honest shot.
